The Cargo Lofts: Such great heights
One perk of having a sister company that builds incredible homes? We always get to list them. Of course, it’ll be a minute before these townhomes — the result of a 1900s warehouse conversion involving shipping containers — hit the active market. But you can surely make one of them yours in the interim.
Designed by local firm Margittai Architects and built by K Bennett Development Group, the “Cargo Lofts” building consists of two separate townhomes, each occupying one side of the former warehouse. As an homage to the property’s roots, its original ceilings and brickwork remain intact, complemented by modern-industrial additions like black staircases, metal railings, and stainless aluminum doors. At the rooftop level, four shipping containers (two per townhome) have been designed specifically to serve as indoor-outdoor lounge areas. Which is kind of a big deal…especially if your interests include sustainable architecture and/or the ability to gaze directly at Downtown Pittsburgh from your roof.
Both homes are currently available for purchase, and construction is scheduled to wrap this summer (2018). Contact us to inquire or to schedule a showing.
