2417 Nicholson: Family ties
Though avid city dwellers at heart, we’re all too familiar with the seclusion and storybook charm offered by Pittsburgh’s suburbs. With an approximate population of 14,000 covering 13.5 square miles, the North Hills’ Franklin Park defines “family-focused community.”
Naturally, we jumped at the chance to introduce you to 2417 Nicholson Road: a spacious, newly renovated townhouse 20 minutes northwest of the city. The property shares a zip code with nearby Sewickley and falls within the North Allegheny School District — one of the area’s highest rated. Minutes away are Franklin Elementary, the Baierl Family YMCA, and I-79 and -76. Because living somewhere that’s kid- and car-friendly is a serious win.
Geography aside, we’re certain this colonial-style space would excel just about anywhere. Its cathedral ceilings allow natural light to flood throughout, starting with an open loft above the living and dining rooms. Conveniently, the first floor houses both the master bedroom (with en-suite bath) and laundry facilities, while two generously built guest bedrooms reside upstairs.
Of all the home’s square feet (there are more than 2,000, mind you), we’re particularly fond of its coziest spot: the kitchen. Wielding new appliances, stone-tiled backsplash, and a massive pantry, this conversational room carves a path to a private outdoor patio — a huge bonus with summer in sight — and an attached one-car garage in front.
