10493 Allante Court | McCandless
Built in 1990 in the stately Villas of North Park, just 14 miles north of Downtown, 10493 Allante Court epitomizes provincial-style craftsmanship. On the first floor, guests are immediately welcomed by regal woodwork seen in both the foyer’s raised panels and the adjacent study’s built-in storage. The living and dining rooms, equally inviting, were made for entertaining: hardwood floors, tons of space, easy access to the kitchen. (We’d be remiss here without mentioning the latter’s breakfast area, granite counters, stainless appliances, and cozy little credenza.)
Speaking of cozy — have you seen that stunner of a brick fireplace in the family room? Sure, it’s summer now, but we’re betting you’ll be quick to gather here when Pittsburgh’s inevitable snowfalls commence. Until then, the room is a gateway to a paved patio overlooking the backyard’s landscaping.
Regarding sleeping quarters, we’re obsessed with this master bedroom. Two closets, an en-suite bath with a skylight, and paneled tray … wait. Where do you see paneled tray ceilings anymore?! Like we said, folks. Provincial excellence. In case of company, the second floor’s stocked with three remaining bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and a laundry room with a walk-in linen closet.
On the house’s opposite pole, a massive 26-by-14-foot game room — fireplace, partial bath, and all — is a secure and serene spot to wind down and enjoy the good life. We can’t think of many reasons you’d physically want to leave this place, once you’re here. But if you insist: North Park’s lake and boathouse are literally a hop ‘n’ skip away.
